National Portrait Gallery

I am going to keep the Portrait theme going with my posts for the day. I found the National Portrait Gallery online. It highlight multiple artists and their photography. I think it is worth looking through to get a few ideas.

Solider Portraits

I found this series on Vanity Fair online called 'Portraits of Korengal' by Tim Hetherington. It is portraits of soldiers. I think it is pretty impressive. Each photo seems to have a different feel and look. I wish I could pull off this kind of unique and moving photography.

Portrait Tutorial

I found this great article on how to shoot portraiture on Geoff Lawrence's website. It is full of tips and tutorials. I thought it would be really helpful to me and my fellow classmates as well as anyone else who might be interested.

Artist Highlight: Stephen Voss

I found this really interesting photographer Stephen Voss. I think he has some really amazing work. What I think I liked the most were his stories. Since our class is having to do a photo essay I thought I might be helpful to look at. He also does great Portraits.

Environmental Portrait

In photojournalism we had to do an environmental portrait. I was actually looking forward to it. I shot Pee Wee over at Bullard's Total Alignment in Covington, GA. He was really nice and helpful, though the shot is not what my teacher was looking for. 

Hmong New Year

Over the weekend I met up with Ze at the Georgia Hmong New Year. It was really interesting and fun. I wasn't able to be out as long as I would have liked, but it was a fun experience.

Fill Flash

For our fill flash assignment I used some pictures I took at a concert for a friends band, Collateral Damage. Apparently I did not do very well... Which is not surprising with the way most of my assignments have been going in this class. But I like the image.

Sports Again...

So I did not do well on my Photojournalism assignment Sports shoot... So I tried again when I saw this Soccer game going on. I think it turned out much better than my last attempt.

Music Monday: Amanda Palmer

This week's video is from Amanda Palmer. She is amazing and so entertaining. She is a character to say the least. Her shows are crazy and will keep you guessing. I love love love this song! One of my absolute favorites!

Photoshop Again? >_<

I don't know why, but this week I have been on a photoshop kick. So, in light of my apparent recent obsession I am posting yet another photoshop video totorial that I thought would be interesting and fun especially for photographers who really want to make eyes pop!
